Larry Hanslits, CFP®

Larry has spent over half his life in this industry and developed a knack for explaining difficult money concepts simply. He’s often collaborating with business owners on retirement planning, business transition planning, and the challenges of leaving a career they love. It’s not uncommon for Larry to join a client as they meet with their estate planning attorney to brainstorm the best ways to meet their goals.

In addition to his work with clients, Larry speaks at collegiate and professional events for various organizations throughout the state and country. He serves on the Investment Policy Committee for The H Group, Inc., which provides strategies and guidance to the portfolio management team.

Married to his high school sweetheart, Laurie, the two of them enjoy cooking, trips to the Oregon coast, and golfing in their backyard at Illahe Hills Country Club. Their kids, Eric and Jenna, are living in Portland and Georgia, both pursuing successful careers.

Sarah Sepulveda,  Advisory Associate

Sarah graduated with degrees in economics and management and initially began her career in nonprofit administration. She later learned about the financial planning profession and, finding that it unites her passions in planning/organizing, answering practical numerical questions, and building relationships, switched tracks by joining The H Group in 2018.

Having started in client services, Sarah first built a foundation of knowledge and made improvements within the administrative side of serving our clients. She now assists with financial planning and operations and continues to enjoy learning our clients’ stories and being a part of our collaborative team that helps clients identify, pursue, and achieve their definition of success.

Sarah and her husband, Peter, who respectively hail from Minnesota and Maine, moved to Salem in 2016 and enjoy hiking and otherwise exploring the beautiful landscape, interesting sites, and delicious food in the state they now love calling home. She otherwise enjoys attending and participating in the performing arts, traveling, reading, and playing with their two dogs, Nanuk (Samoyed) and Brody (Goldendoodle).

Ron Kelemen,  Financial Planner Emeritus

Ron Kelemen was a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner for over 35 years, and as an Advisory Associate of The H Group, Inc., served as the founder of the Salem location. The firm continues to use his leadership as a compass, carrying over many of the values that started our firm nearly four decades ago.

His book, The Confident Retirement Journey – Your Personal & Financial Roadmap, is available on Amazon. Ron started a quarterly newsletter in 1992 that continues beyond his retirement, as do many of the trails he blazed. He has also written a wealth management column for local medical societies and has served as contributing author to three wealth management reference books. In addition, he has been quoted in national publications including The Wall Street Journal, Money, Smart Money, and numerous professional publications.

In retirement, he and his wife Kathy enjoy bicycling, cooking, Airstream trailer camping, snowboarding, classical music, and international travel. They stop by the office frequently and we enjoy staying in touch.
