Q4 Team Update
Sarah recently celebrated her one-year milestone with our firm! She is excited to continue building relationships with our client families and team. Outside of the office, Sarah and Peter took a weekend trip to Montana to pick up Peter’s brother, who stayed with them for a few weeks; she helped with a Holiday Bazaar for the McKay Choir program and ended her months-long choir hiatus by singing with the St. Paul Chamber Singers in Salem.
After one more plane ride to see the sights (missing a tornado by one day – phew!) in Dallas, TX, Michelle is snuggling in for the winter. Looking forward to family time, book reading & movie watching, she wishes each of you a wonderful holiday season and wants you to know how lucky she feels to be a part of your lives through The H Group! Thanks for another great year & here’s to an even better 2020!
Katherine has been busy the last few months, relocating her mom from Bend to an independent living community in Salem. The transition is going smoother than anticipated, but it has been time-consuming dealing with the physical, financial, and family (Katherine has five siblings) dynamics involved with such a move. This has provided her with new insight and appreciation for those with aging parents.
Brenna continues to enjoy her Pentacle season tickets and was recently honored with a Paul Harris Fellow by one of her fellow Rotarians. She was shocked to find she placed 3rd female overall in the Silver Falls 5k trail run last month. Daughter Mika, now 2.5, had fun dressing up as Tigger for Halloween and is in the throes of enjoying every holiday festivity the family can find/bear.
Last quarter saw Larry in Seattle attending the 64th Annual Estate Planning Seminar. It was one of the better seminars he’s been to recently. Laurie, on the other hand, was home, recovering from rotator cuff and wrist surgery. Since both surgeries were on her right arm, she elected to have them both done at once. Her rehabilitation is running ahead of schedule.
Q4 Out and About
This fall found us learning and teaching. Between Larry, Brenna, and Katherine, the advisors in our office traveled to 4 states and attended 7 conferences over the past 3 months. ‘Tis the season for expanding our knowledge base to become better planners.
We shared what we know through a couple of seminars. Brenna presented at the 5th annual Women’s Worth conference, and Katherine, at a symposium hosted by Willamette Valley Hospice on aging.
We also continued our efforts to give back to the community we love. Our team spent an afternoon serving folks at the Center 50+ at their Meals on Wheels program. We also enjoyed sponsoring and attending the Willamette Heritage Center fall gala, as well as the Center for Hope and Safety’s Steps to Safety 5k walk/run. We kicked off the holiday season celebrating with our friends at Family Building Blocks at their annual Gala of Trees, a benefit for Boys and Girls Aid.
