Quarter 1 Team Update
The first few months of the year have flown by for Michelle! She has been busy with lots of family activities, celebrating her birthday and gearing up to celebrate her cousin’s long-anticipated Vegas wedding and reunion with her family in March. As always, she looks forward to speaking with and seeing clients as they schedule and attend their annual update meetings. See you all soon!
Sarah and Peter have enjoyed some good time and adventures with family and friends, including spending Christmas with Sarah’s family in Minnesota, exploring Hood River for a weekend with another couple, skiing down the slopes of Hoodoo for a day, and celebrating her birthday plus other friends’ recent birthdays. She also went to the ER for her first-ever stitches (unrelated to anything above), but her hand is on the mend.
Katherine continues to enjoy her season tickets for Broadway Portland. It is always fun to discover a “new favorite.” Now that her mom is all settled in Salem, Katherine is refocusing more time to the goal of becoming a visitation team with Quill, her Sheepadoodle. That may be a very long-term goal.
Brenna has had one heck of a quarter. What topped most everything was being honored as the Outstanding Young Professional by the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce. In addition, the three months of training paid off as she completed a half marathon in under 2 hours, which was more ambitious than her goal pace. She celebrated both with a Gal-entines weekend in Palm Springs with 5 of her girlfriends.
Larry and Laurie attended “Come Fly With Me” at Zenith Vineyards which was a fundraiser designed to help bring commercial airline service back to Salem. Initial reports indicate that the fundraising efforts that night achieved the goals set. Laurie continues to recover very well from the shoulder and wrist surgeries she had last fall, and she is getting ready for golf season.
Out & About
We kicked off the New Year by hosting an Economic Update with renowned speaker and economist John Mitchell. His major takeaway? Nothing is predictable.
We had a great time as title sponsors for the 2020 GoodWorks Dinner and Auction hosted by the Rotary Club of Salem. In large part, the proceeds will support the Gerry Frank | Salem Rotary Amphitheater.
Some of us attended the “Fly Salem” fundraiser, designed to bring commercial air travel back to Salem while others enjoyed the Salem Art Association’s Clay Ball fundraiser. We continue to love supporting our community and the incredible organizations that thrive here.
By far the most exciting event we sponsored and attended this spring was the First Citizen Banquet, hosted by Salem Area Chamber of Commerce. This year, our own Brenna Baucum was honored with the Outstanding Young Professional award, encompassing 14 years of community involvement in Salem.
