Congrats Sarah!
When Sarah joined the practice nearly two and a half years ago, she was always headed for the advisor track. Her experience in the client services role has given her a good foundation on which to build. In January, we celebrated Sarah passing her Uniform Investment Advisor Law Exam. This 3-hour exam covers a grueling amount of historical context and information needed to provide investment advice to clients. Next step will be for Sarah to begin her CFP coursework. We’re excited to continue supporting and celebrating her through this journey!
Farewell Brenna
After eight years with the firm, Brenna is leaving The H Group. She will become the Director of Education and Communication for Money Quotient. This organization serves financial advisors with tools to facilitate meaningful conversations and goal setting with their clients. While the company is international, the work is remote, so she will continue to call Salem home. There is a reason why she was always so fond of using the term ‘client family.’ It always felt that way. She looks forward to staying in touch and continuing to see familiar faces around town.
The rest of our team has been busy this quarter too.
With the start of the new year, Michelle is hopeful for 2021 to be a time of healing. She looks forward to connecting with each of you in the coming months, to schedule your virtual update meetings. As always, please let us know if there is anything we can do to help make your lives a little easier. Stay safe and take care!
Eric entered in a New Year’s Eve and Day, (3) Steak turn‐in Competition. Out of 17 competitors, he placed 7th, 12th, and 15th for his steaks. Either way, he enjoyed the fun of barbequing with other competitors and doesn’t remember any vegetable as a topic of conversation.
Back in December, Sarah and Peter stayed home for Christmas, sadly cancelling hopeful plans to visit Peter’s family in Maine, but still got to connect with both of their families virtually. Since then, they have enjoyed snowshoeing in the Cascades, a weekend trip to a cabin in Southern Oregon, and finally finishing a long-overdue painting project in their home. Sarah is also happy to have passed the Series 65 exam!
In addition to the meaningful goodbyes with many client families, Brenna and her family enjoyed a few weekend getaways to snowy Government camp and beautiful Amity wine country. Her continued deepened work with the financial life planning community is teeing up her transition to her new role.
Katherine is looking forward to getting away for a few days to the Oregon coast in March. It is funny how the last twelve months have made even the simpler travels, special.
Larry and Laurie did well during the recent power outage. Their wood stove kept the house warm and having a gas range meant cooking was not a problem. However, Larry reports that without the television he once again made generous contributions to the gin rummy money pot.
