Time is flying and we’ve buttoned up the first quarter of 2019. As is our custom, here’s a short update on what our team has been up to.
Michelle has been delightedly occupied with getting a jump on the New Year and scheduling many of you for your update meetings (we always look forward to them!). She was pleased to have a friend visit in January and show them what snow in Oregon looks like. However, originally being from Colorado, she is more anxious for springtime and the warmer Pacific NW weather!
Sarah is busy learning her new role and meeting members of our client families. Outside of work, she and her husband, Peter, traveled to and skied in Ashland for the first time and enjoyed hosting one of Peter’s sisters when she visited. In addition to their nine-month-old Samoyed puppy, Nanuk, they recently adopted a one-year-old goldendoodle, Brody, who was in need of a new home and is turning out to be a wonderful addition to the family.
In addition to her normal responsibilities to our clients and team members, Katherine has been busy training Sarah on many of our technology tools and client service procedures. On the personal side, she is anxiously awaiting a new addition to her family – a puppy. During the two-to-four month wait, she is working on creating a puppy welcoming home and yard.
Brenna said goodbye to her beloved grandmother this winter. 90-years loved, she will be missed every day. Being with her in her last hours was the catalyst for the recent article on Honoring the Dying Process. Shortly after that sad trip, she and Ben enjoyed a week in Costa Rica to celebrate 10 years together. About the time you receive this, their daughter Mika will be turning 2. She shares her birthday with St. Patrick’s Day, which is fitting for her Irish roots.
A week after the financial and economic seminar described under the ‘out and about’ section, Larry and Laurie took a golfing trip to Lake Las Vegas and were able to play some rounds in the sun and 65-degree weather. It turned out to be some of the best rehabilitation Laurie could have done after her foot surgery in November. Walking the uneven surfaces really helped to loosen things up.
