Once a quarter, we take a few minutes to update you on what’s going on with our team. Here’s what has been happening in our world(s).
Over the summer, Michelle spent a lot of time near or on the water: staying at the Sylvia Beach Hotel in Newport (a MUST for book-lovers!) and taking a couple of boat tours on the Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler, as well as on the Portland Bridge & City Lights Powerboat Tour. She continues to volunteer her time as a co-facilitator with NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) support groups and classes.
Katherine is in the process of a major change in her life. Her divorce was finalized last month. This was a difficult decision for her to make after 37 years of marriage but she knows it is best for all concerned. This change makes her move to Salem two a half years ago is even more timely since her home, The H Group, and the Salem community are a perfect fit for her next chapter. Katherine is also in the process of changing her last name back to her birth name, Keppel.
Brenna and her family happily closed the sale of their Canby home in September and have been enjoying their new home in South Salem. Mika, now a year and a half, is especially fond of the 8 minute commute to school. The summer has been full of client meetings, special projects and volunteer work with Rotary. In August, Brenna wrapped up her 10th year participating in Hood to Coast, running the first position off the mountain as usual. A few weeks ago, she had her first triathlon experience at Rotary’s Multi-Sport RiverFest.
Larry and Laurie can sum up their summer with one word: golf. Laurie has been in two pro-ams this summer with a third one in Florence at the end of August. Larry has just been playing for fun. They also took time to attend the Marion-Polk Food share fundraiser, Farm to Table, and headed to Bend for a four day weekend with friends. One of the highlights of their summer has to be getting together with family for a couple weddings. Larry and Laurie were in Minnesota with their children for their nephew’s wedding and Hood River for their niece’s wedding. There, Larry was able to reconnect with some of his cousins whom has hasn’t seen in over a decade.
