Team Update
Eric was recently on medical leave. He had his right kidney removed along with the hitchhiker named “Tumor.” At this point it appears the surgery was completely successful. During his time of recovery, he learned how to use an Air fryer, but also enjoyed several 2000-piece puzzles, that were donated by one of our dear clients! Eric is thankful for the total support of The H Group, several wonderful clients and the incredible care from his lovely wife, Amy! They are both excited to get back on the competition BBQ circuit with their next event being the Icebox BBQ Contest in Sweet Home over the 4th of July weekend.
Katie celebrated the addition of a new nephew to the four she already enjoys. Her two nieces are seriously outnumbered now. This month has been busy as usual with volunteering, helping at the office and studying. Katie is on the committee for the Salem Chamber McLaran Golf Tournament, and planning has begun for the September event.
Katherine recently returned from one of her favorite professional conferences – The Financial Planning Association NORCAL. It is held every year at the end of May in San Francisco. It draws some of the best presenters/education opportunities in our industry. On a personal side, Quill and Katherine are navigating the path to become a therapy team at Salem Health. Stay tuned for updates on their progress.
Larry and Laurie were able to get away for a vacation to Maui earlier this year. Although Lahaina remained closed due to the devasting fire last August, the locals were all very welcoming and appreciated the return of tourists. They also celebrated their grandson Luka’s first birthday party, and both are enjoying the start of golf season.
Out and About
It was a busy Spring for The H Group team. Larry, Katherine and Katie attended the (disco themed) Liberty House Mega Raffle dinner on the 16th of May. The H Group was once again a Gold Sponsor for this event and is always happy to assist Liberty House with their mission of helping the most vulnerable children of Marion and Polk Counties. Liberty House reported that they raised over $200,000 during this event. Larry helped with a few wins in the raffle and live auction, in addition to the normal paddle raise.
Katie supported Family Building Blocks and their mission to “Keep Children Safe and Families Together” by attending their annual fundraiser, Uncorked. Katie also opened the Salem Chamber of Commerce’s May Forum luncheon with an acapella singing of the National Anthem. The reports are she did a great job.
In addition to all of the above, Katherine, Eric, and Amy enjoyed the Lonely Chef’s Dinner in support of Marion Polk Food Share while Larrry and Laurie golfed in the Boys and Girls Club of Western Lane County’s annual fund raiser, Fore! Kids Golf Classic.
