2021 Q3 Team Update
Eric has been enjoying a summer of grilling vegetables, but out of left field, a client encouraged him to try grilling glazed donuts. It was awesome! He says adding a scoop of ice cream and chocolate syrup makes it divine, and if you get a glazed donut bar, you can cut it in half, grill it on both sides, and make an ice cream sandwich!
Family was a recent theme for Sarah and Peter, as right before a trip to TX, each lost a grandparent. Plans were quickly changed, and they instead celebrated Sarah’s grandma’s and Peter’s grandpa’s lives and saw both of their families in MN, ME, and PA, all in one week. They also enjoyed showing Sarah’s newly-engaged brother and his fiancé around the area when they later visited for a weekend from CO.
Katherine has been keeping busy primarily with projects in and around her home. She appreciates the pet-friendly stores in our community so she can check two boxes with each trip – buy plants for the yard “check” and a train Quill in public areas “check.” In July, she enjoyed a long weekend at Clear Lake, Oregon staying in one of the rustic cabins. This is one of Katherine’s favorite lakes to kayak.
September is certainly a month of celebration for Larry and Laurie. At the beginning of the month, their son, Eric, married his long-time girlfriend, Ivy. They then spent a week in Sunriver to celebrate their 36th year wedding anniversary where they met up with friends for golf, food, and wine. They also report that they are both looking forward to the start of the fantasy football season.
Out & About
We were hopeful that we would be able to report about our first charitable sponsorship in 18 months that involved a local, in-person event (outdoors with appropriate precautions). Unfortunately, with COVID numbers spiking and the outdoor mask mandate, the Willamette Heritage Center’s Heritage Garden Party is postponed until spring. We look forward to being the Presenting Sponsor at that time.
In a virtual capacity, we had the privilege of supporting Liberty House as a gold sponsor for their Cherish the Children MEGA Raffle back in May and recently doubled our commitment as a member of the Boys & Girls Club’s Club Blue, signifying businesses that pledge to annually give the equivalent of a full-year of programming for a Club kid.
On the professional side, Larry was back on the road to see out-of-town clients, this time on the Oregon Coast, and Katherine expanded her knowledge of PERS through a Financial Planning Association virtual seminar.
